Essentially, the rating system is designed so that if your rating is 250 points higher than the average rating of all the players in the game (including you), then you are expected to score, on average, 1 point better (i.e. lower) than the average each round in a 2-player game. In a 3-player game, you are expected to score 1.135 points better on average, and in a 4-player game you are expected to score 1.205 points better. (This slight adjustment has to do with the fact that the spread in points grows with the number of players. The rating is computed based on the 200 last played deals. You begin with a rating of 1100. |
Sometimes it might seem you have played well, but the rating still decreases. Even if you win, the rating may decrease. There are a number of possible reasons for this:
The rating can thus sometimes be reduced even when you have a good game; this does not mean that something is wrong/buggy. |
